In October 2015 the Friendship II started performing survey activities for DEME in Port Said in Egypt. The activities will take place till April 2016. DEME has been commissioned by the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) to dredge a side channel 9.5km long, 250m wide and 18.5m deep, providing access to the eastern part of Port Said port.

The Friendship II was loaded on a coaster of Hartman Seatrade in Harlingen, The Netherlands. After just 2 weeks the Friendship II was unloaded in Taşucu, Turkey. Vessel and crew sailed to Port Said to start executing project activities.
